New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tribute to the brave soldiers who fought in the Kargil War, saying their courage and sacrifice in the face of the most challenging conditions will forever remain a source of national pride.
As the nation observed Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the armed forces for their extraordinary bravery and unwavering commitment to safeguarding India’s sovereignty.
In a post on X, Modi said the nation salutes the courage and dedication of the soldiers whose sacrifices ensured India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil conflict.
“Their valour in the face of the most formidable conditions will forever remain a source of national pride. Their unwavering patriotism and devotion to duty will continue to inspire generations,” the Prime Minister said.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26 to commemorate India’s victory in the Kargil War and to honour the soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.
