Puri: Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a spectacular sand sculpture featuring 100 miniature sand chariots on Puri beach in Odisha ahead of the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, which begins on Thursday.
The installation, unveiled to the public on Wednesday, showcases a giant sand idol of Lord Jagannath surrounded by 100 intricately crafted miniature sand chariots, symbolising the grand chariot festival.
The artwork carries the message, “Jai Jagannatha, Happy Ratha Jatra,” extending greetings to devotees ahead of one of India’s most revered religious festivals.
Thousands of visitors and devotees are expected to witness the unique sand art creation as preparations for the annual Rath Yatra reach their final stages in the temple town of Puri.
