Kerala Home Minister to Seek Tamil Nadu’s Support for Anti-Drug Campaign

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala will visit Chennai on Wednesday to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and seek the neighbouring state’s cooperation in strengthening Kerala’s anti-drug campaign.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at 11:30 a.m., according to an official statement.

During the meeting, the Home Minister is expected to discuss ‘Operation Toofan – The Narco Hunt’, a major initiative launched by the Kerala Home Department to crack down on drug trafficking and dismantle narcotics networks operating in the state.

The Kerala government aims to enhance coordination with Tamil Nadu in tackling cross-border drug smuggling and strengthening joint efforts to curb the drug menace. The discussions are expected to focus on improving intelligence sharing and cooperation between the two states to effectively combat the drug mafia.
