The weather department upgraded its warning from an ‘orange’ alert to a ‘red’ alert on Monday morning after observing a significant change in weather conditions. It has also forecast occasional strong winds with gusts reaching 70–80 kmph across the region.
Neighbouring Palghar district has been placed under an ‘orange’ alert, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected at a few places along with strong winds gusting up to 70–80 kmph.
