New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed grief over the passing of renowned Pandavani singer Tijan Bai, paying tribute to her immense contribution to Indian folk art.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said Tijan Bai gave the traditional Pandavani folk art of Chhattisgarh a unique identity across the world through her remarkable performances.
Modi described her as an outstanding cultural icon whose dedication to preserving and promoting India’s rich folk heritage would continue to inspire generations. He also extended his heartfelt condolences to her family, admirers and the cultural community.
