Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rainfall continues across Kerala, with the weather department issuing an Orange Alert for Kannur and Kasaragod districts. As a precautionary measure, the district collectors have declared a holiday for all educational institutions in these two districts on Tuesday.
A Yellow Alert has been issued for seven districts, stretching from Alappuzha to Wayanad, indicating the possibility of heavy rainfall in these areas.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the ongoing rain is being caused by a low-pressure trough extending from the Maharashtra coast to the northern Kerala coast.The IMD has forecast that the rainy conditions are likely to continue across the state until Saturday. People have been advised to remain vigilant as strong winds, heavy rain, and thunderstorms are expected in several parts of Kerala.
