Action Taken Against Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust Staff in Donation Fraud Case

Authorities have initiated action against employees of the Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust in connection with an alleged donation fraud case. As part of the investigation, 40 employees have been removed from duties related to counting and handling offerings received at the temple.

Additional security measures have also been introduced in the department responsible for counting and recording donations. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case has so far questioned more than 100 individuals. Investigators have also collected bank account details of those suspected to be involved in the alleged fraud.

Meanwhile, an organization representing kar sevaks has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding the dissolution of the trust allegedly linked to the scam.

In a parallel development, a group of lawyers has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The petition calls for measures to safeguard public interest, restore devotees’ confidence, and establish stronger audit and oversight mechanisms for temple funds.

The petition also urges the court to direct the Uttar Pradesh government and the temple trust to implement appropriate reforms and ensure greater transparency in the management of donations.
