Shikha Surendran, the District Collector of Thrissur, has assumed additional charge as the Administrator of Guruvayur Devaswom.
The Collector took charge at the Devaswom office on Friday evening, receiving the responsibilities from outgoing Administrator O B Arun Kumar.
The arrangement follows the government’s decision to recall Arun Kumar to his parent department. He will now return to service in the Secretariat.
A V Gopinath, Devaswom governing body member C Manoj, Arun Kumar and Devaswom staff welcomed the Collector upon her arrival. She later formally assumed office by signing the official records at the Administrator’s office.
Shikha Surendran will continue to hold the additional charge until the government appoints a new full-time Administrator for the Devaswom.
Meanwhile, Devaswom employees accorded a warm farewell to Arun Kumar as he returned to his parent department after completing his tenure as Administrator.
