Min Aung Hlaing will undertake a five-day visit to India beginning May 30 to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties in areas including trade and defence.
The visit marks the first high-level engagement from Myanmar to India following the parliamentary elections held in the neighbouring country between December and January.
Officials said the Myanmar President was initially scheduled to visit India to participate in the International Big Cat Alliance Summit on June 1. However, the summit has since been postponed, leading to a rescheduling of his visit.
During the trip, both sides are expected to hold discussions on regional cooperation, connectivity, security and economic partnerships between India and Myanmar.
