BJP state vice president V Unnikrishnan on Wednesday justified the Enforcement Directorate raids at the residences linked to former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter Veena Vijayan, saying “those who have done wrong will eventually face consequences.”
Addressing the media, Unnikrishnan alleged that the CPI(M) was mobilising party workers against the raids because “they have something to hide.” He asserted that no one is above the law and said the party should understand that investigations must be allowed to proceed without obstruction.
He further said Pinarayi Vijayan and his family should show the courage to face the investigation directly instead of attempting to challenge the legal process through political pressure.
Unnikrishnan also warned that the CPI(M) should not assume it can confront the law through its political influence, and remarked that the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to pursuing investigations.
