Counting of votes for the repoll in the Falta Assembly constituency began at 8 am on Sunday amid tight security arrangements, an Election Commission official said.
The repoll was held on May 21 in all 285 booths of the constituency after voting conducted on April 29 during the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections was cancelled over allegations of EVM tampering and other irregularities.
According to poll officials, counting is progressing peacefully and adequate security has been deployed at the counting centre.
