Bhupender Yadav on Saturday said Project Cheetah is not only a wildlife conservation initiative but also an effort to correct a historical wrong committed by humanity.
He was speaking at the launch of the book Bringing the Cheetah Back to India authored by Prashant Agrawal, who led negotiations for the return of cheetahs to India.
Yadav said the Earth is meant for coexistence among all species and stressed that humans cannot survive without maintaining ecological balance and biodiversity.
Project Cheetah was launched to reintroduce cheetahs in India decades after the species became extinct in the country.
