President Droupadi Murmu on Friday received Nikos Christodoulides at Rashtrapati Bhavan and hosted a banquet in his honour.
Welcoming the Cypriot president and his delegation, Murmu said India and Cyprus share close ties built on trust and goodwill. She noted that bilateral relations have now been elevated to a Strategic Partnership.
The president highlighted growing cooperation between the two countries in sectors including defence, security, technology, financial services, connectivity and maritime affairs.
Murmu also said Cyprus remains an important source of foreign direct investment for India and noted increasing interest among Cypriot companies in expanding trade and investment ties with India.
She further stressed the potential for collaboration in emerging sectors such as semiconductors, renewable energy, green energy, space, sustainable development and artificial intelligence.
