PM Modi Meets Italian PM Meloni in Rome Ahead of Bilateral Talks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday arrived in Italy for the final leg of his five-nation tour and held an informal meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni ahead of formal bilateral talks.

Meloni hosted Modi for dinner and also accompanied him on a visit to the iconic Colosseum in Rome.

In a post on social media, Modi said the two leaders exchanged views on a wide range of issues during their interaction.

The Prime Minister arrived in Rome from Norway as part of his multi-nation tour covering the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy.

He was received at the airport by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

During his visit, Modi is also scheduled to meet Italian President Sergio Mattarella. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation between India and Italy in areas including trade, investment, strategic ties and technology.
