Bangladesh’s measles outbreak has claimed 336 lives after 12 more children died in the past 24 hours, health authorities said on Thursday.
According to a spokesperson of the Directorate General of Health Services, around 1,238 children showing measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period.
The rising number of cases comes despite an extensive vaccination and awareness campaign launched by authorities to contain the spread of the contagious disease.
