MP Suresh Gopi initiates multiple development projects in Thrissur constituency

Thrissur: A series of development projects have been undertaken in the Thrissur constituency under the leadership of Member of Parliament Suresh Gopi, focusing on public infrastructure, healthcare support, and basic amenities.

Among the key initiatives is the development of the Ayyanthole Civil Line Park, where outdoor gym equipment, children’s play facilities, and a drinking water purifier have been installed at a cost of ₹23.5 lakh.

In the healthcare sector, funds amounting to ₹20.23 lakh have been allocated for the purchase of a vehicle for a mobile dispensary under the District Vector Control Unit, aimed at improving outreach services.

Significant investments have also been made in improving public lighting infrastructure across various parts of Thrissur Corporation. Multiple high-mast and low-mast lighting systems have been installed in areas including Mission Quarters, Ayyanthole, Poonkunnam, Udayanagar, and other divisions. These projects, taken together, account for several lakhs in expenditure and are intended to enhance public safety and accessibility in residential and public spaces.

Additionally, a footpath was constructed in Palliyil Lane, Poonkunnam, at a cost of ₹9.45 lakh to improve pedestrian infrastructure.

However, a proposed project to establish infrastructure facilities for a modern laboratory at the General Hospital, Thrissur, with a sanctioned amount of ₹33 lakh, is yet to be fully implemented.

The projects form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen civic amenities and public services in the constituency, though some works remain pending completion.
