
Thrissur: The Indian Vartha Channel has won the Thrissur District Farm Documentation Award presented by the Animal Husbandry Department. The award was given for the “Krishiyidam” programme produced by Sruthi AS. The awards were distributed at a function held at the PWD Rest House Hall. The event was organised by the district unit of the department.
The function was inaugurated by Dr. Sindhu K, Director of the State Animal Welfare Department. The ceremony was presided over by District Animal Welfare Officer Dr. V. M. Harris. As part of the event, awards for the best dairy farmer and best mixed farmer were also distributed.
Biju T.D. from Vallachira Panchayat won the best dairy farmer award, which included a cash prize of ₹20,000, a plaque, and a certificate. Sanil Kumar from Puthur Panchayat received the best mixed farmer award, which carried a cash prize of ₹10,000 along with a plaque and certificate. Several officials attended the function, including Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Isaac Sam and other department staff. The event highlighted the efforts of farmers and media initiatives that promote agriculture and animal husbandry in the district.
