Vantara has completed one remarkable year, emerging as a global benchmark in wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and scientific conservation. Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ambitious initiative led by Anant Ambani has restored hope to thousands of distressed wild animals. From advanced veterinary treatment and complex surgeries to structured rehabilitation and reintroduction into natural habitats, Vantara has redefined large-scale wildlife care. The initiative’s impact has earned international recognition, including the prestigious Global Human Award for Anant Ambani and multiple honors such as the Prani Mitra Award 2025.
Over the past year, Vantara has rescued and treated big cats, elephants, reptiles, birds, and several endangered species. More than 250 elephants rescued from circuses and exploitative conditions now receive specialized long-term care at the facility. In partnership with the Gujarat Forest Department, 53 spotted deer were successfully reintroduced into Barda Wildlife Sanctuary, marking a key conservation milestone. Recognized as a National Referral Centre (West Zone) for wildlife, Vantara operates 11 satellite laboratories where over 70 specialists analyze more than 2,000 samples daily. With the capacity to produce 156,000 kilograms of quality fodder each day and a 200-member rapid response team available round-the-clock, the centre stands as a symbol of integrated conservation excellence. Beyond wildlife protection, Vantara also extended humanitarian support during the Punjab floods, assisting both affected communities and animals. In just one year, it has evolved into a powerful movement dedicated to building a sustainable and compassionate future for wildlife.
