Kerala Sets Course to Turn CIAL into a Full-Fledged Aviation Hub

Kochi: Kerala has announced an ambitious roadmap to transform Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) into a complete aviation ecosystem, elevating it beyond a passenger airport to a multi-dimensional aviation hub. At the heart of this transformation is the CIAL Aero Park, envisioned to function with all the key features of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

The Aero Park will bring together aviation-linked industries, aircraft maintenance and repair facilities, advanced training and safety centres, technical services, business hubs, and premium co-working spaces under one integrated framework. By creating a single platform for diverse aviation activities, CIAL aims to foster innovation, attract global investments, and generate large-scale employment.

With SEZ-like infrastructure and incentives, the project is expected to draw international aviation companies, startups, and allied service providers, strengthening Kerala’s footprint in the aviation and logistics sectors. The initiative marks a major step towards positioning CIAL as one of India’s leading aviation hubs, driving long-term economic growth for the state.
