Modi Hails India–US Interim Trade Pact Framework as Major Boost to ‘Make in India’ and Jobs

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday welcomed the framework for the Interim Trade Agreement between India and the United States, calling it a major catalyst for strengthening the Make in India initiative and generating employment. Emphasising the growing economic synergy between the two countries, Modi said the agreement reflects mutual trust and a shared commitment to expanding trade and investment.

According to government sources, the interim framework is designed to improve market access, streamline trade procedures, and deepen cooperation in key sectors such as manufacturing, energy, technology, and services. The Prime Minister said enhanced access to the US market would empower Indian manufacturers, attract fresh investments, and create new employment opportunities, especially for youth and skilled professionals. He added that the agreement lays a strong foundation for a comprehensive long-term trade pact, helping integrate India more deeply into global supply chains and advancing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
