Gold Prices Slide Further in Kerala, Drop ₹1,520 per Pavan

Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala continued their downward spiral on Tuesday, offering some relief to buyers after weeks of sharp volatility. The price of gold fell by ₹1,520 per pavan, bringing the rate down to ₹1,11,720. On a per-gram basis, gold became cheaper by ₹190 and is now trading at ₹13,965. After hitting record highs recently, prices have been swinging between gains and losses over the past few days.

The fall follows a steep decline witnessed a day earlier, when gold prices plunged by ₹3,680 per pavan in a single session. The highest-ever gold price in the state was recorded on January 29 at ₹1,31,160 per pavan. Gold had crossed the ₹1 lakh mark for the first time on December 23, triggering a strong rally that has now begun to cool off.
