Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27, describing it as a historic budget that lays a solid foundation for India’s future growth and development. Speaking after the Budget was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Prime Minister said it reflects the aspirations and confidence of 140 crore Indians.
PM Modi termed the Budget a “highway of opportunities”, stating that it will accelerate India’s reform journey and energise the economy while ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth. PM noted that the Budget is fully aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, serving as a clear roadmap towards making India a developed nation by the centenary year of Independence.
Highlighting the emphasis on women-led development, the Prime Minister said the Budget showcases the empowered presence of the nation’s feminine strength. PM also praised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting the Budget for a record ninth consecutive time, calling it a symbol of India’s growing women leadership.
According to PM Modi, the Union Budget 2026 not only strengthens economic resilience but also boosts innovation, infrastructure, social empowerment and global competitiveness. PM said the Budget sends a strong message of confidence at a time of global uncertainty, reinforcing India’s position as a fast-growing and future-ready economy.
