Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid rich tributes to the personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on the occasion of its Raising Day, lauding their courage, dedication, and selfless service to the nation.
In his message, the Prime Minister praised the NDRF for its swift and professional response during natural disasters and emergencies across the country. PM said the force has earned the trust and respect of citizens through its tireless efforts in saving lives during floods, cyclones, earthquakes, landslides, and other calamities.
“The NDRF personnel stand as a symbol of bravery, discipline, and compassion. Their commitment to duty in the most challenging circumstances reflects the true spirit of service,” PM said.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the force’s growing expertise in disaster preparedness, rescue operations, and community awareness programmes, noting that these efforts have significantly strengthened India’s disaster management capabilities.
The National Disaster Response Force, raised in 2006, plays a crucial role in disaster response and mitigation under the National Disaster Management Authority. On its Raising Day, events were held across the country to honour the courage and sacrifices of NDRF personnel, who remain at the forefront of India’s disaster response system.
