Amid growing speculation about a potential trade agreement between India and the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held a warm and constructive phone conversation. The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation across several key areas critical to both nations.
According to an official statement, the leaders explored ways to deepen collaboration in trade, critical technologies, energy, defence, and security. Both Modi and Trump expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far in bilateral ties and emphasized the need to maintain strong momentum, especially in efforts to enhance trade between the two countries.
The conversation also highlighted the broader vision of the 21st-century India–US Compact, which aims to promote military partnership, accelerate commerce, and expand technological opportunities. The two sides exchanged ideas on jointly advancing cooperation in priority sectors such as advanced technology, energy, defence, and national security.
