Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala dropped for the second time today, marking a total decline of ₹720 per sovereign. Prices fell by ₹240 in the morning and further dipped by ₹480 in the afternoon, bringing the new rate to ₹94,920 per sovereign.
The price per gram also saw a two-stage reduction, decreasing by a total of ₹90. The new price per gram now stands at ₹11,865.
The all-time high gold price in the state was recorded on October 17 at ₹97,360 per sovereign. Until yesterday, gold prices were fluctuating between ₹95,000 and ₹96,000. Today marks the first time in a while that gold has slipped below the ₹95,000 mark.
The change in India’s gold prices is largely influenced by fluctuations in the global market. Growing investor interest in gold as a safe-haven asset in recent days had contributed to the previous price increases.
