NDA Surge in Bihar: NDA Sweeps to Power With Historic Majority; BJP Shines, Chirag Paswan Makes Stunning Gains

New Delhi: Bihar has delivered a sweeping mandate to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is marching back to power with a resounding two-thirds majority. The alliance is leading in over 200 out of 243 seats, marking a dramatic leap from its previous count of 122.

In a major political twist that defied all exit poll predictions, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged as the largest single party, taking the lead in 91 constituencies. Its coalition partner, the Janata Dal (United), is performing strongly as well, leading in 81 seats. Both parties had contested 101 seats each in this election.

Adding to the NDA’s momentum, Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) has delivered a remarkable performance. Contesting in just 29 seats, the party has surged ahead in 21 constituencies, marking one of the most notable rises of this election. Former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM has also made its presence felt, leading in five seats.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) is facing a significant electoral collapse. Its earlier tally of 114 has plummeted, with the alliance ahead in only 35 seats. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is leading in a mere 26 constituencies, while the Congress has been pushed down to four seats, a drastic drop from 19. Among Left parties, CPI(ML) is leading in four seats and CPM in one.

The mandate marks a historic political shift in Bihar, cementing the NDA’s dominance and showcasing the BJP’s strong organisational push along with Chirag Paswan’s expanding influence.
