The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched an all-new Aadhaar mobile app, making it unnecessary to carry the physical Aadhaar card or its photocopy anymore.
The upgraded app promises a seamless, secure, and paperless experience, offering users quick access to their Aadhaar details anytime, anywhere. Available for Android and iOS, the app was introduced through UIDAI’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, with download links and feature highlights.
The new Aadhaar app is packed with smart, user-friendly features — including facial recognition, a biometric lock, and QR code–based digital sharing. Built with advanced encryption and privacy controls, it ensures complete protection of user data.
A single smartphone can now manage up to five Aadhaar profiles, provided they are all linked to the same mobile number — a convenient option for families. Users can also decide what information they want to share, such as only their name and photo, while keeping other personal details private.
For added ease, the app supports QR code verification at banks, government offices, and service centers, even without internet access. It also includes a usage tracking feature, letting users monitor when and where their Aadhaar has been used.
With this launch, UIDAI is taking another big leap toward digital governance, making Aadhaar more accessible, secure, and future-ready — and ensuring that India’s most widely used identity system truly fits in your pocket.
