Shimla: As many as 64 roads were closed to vehicular traffic across Himachal Pradesh following rainfall in several parts of the state, officials said on Wednesday.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast that the spell of rain will continue in the state until September 15.
Several areas received light to moderate rainfall during the 24 hours ending Tuesday evening. Dhaulakuan in Sirmaur district recorded the highest rainfall at 39.5 mm, followed by Guler with 19.3 mm, Dharamshala with 22.4 mm, Sujanpur Tira with 12.2 mm and Jogindernagar with 6 mm.
Authorities said road clearance and restoration work was being undertaken at the affected locations.
