Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan to Visit Andaman and Nicobar Islands on August 8–9

New Delhi: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan will undertake a two-day visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on August 8 and 9, during which he will participate in events commemorating India’s freedom struggle and the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyaan.

On August 8, the Vice President will visit the Cellular Jail National Memorial at Sri Vijay Puram, where he will pay tributes at the Martyrs’ Column, offer respects at the Swatantrata Jyoti, and visit Veer Savarkar’s Cell. He will also attend the Light and Sound Show, which depicts the story of India’s freedom movement and the sacrifices of its freedom fighters.

On August 9, Radhakrishnan will take part in the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyaan by hoisting the National Flag at Flag Point in Sri Vijay Puram. He will later attend the State Function – “Tiranga Concert on Vande Mataram” at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) Auditorium.

In the afternoon, the Vice President is scheduled to visit the historic Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island, highlighting the significance of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India’s freedom movement.
