Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan Begins Two-Day Visit to Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Kerala on Monday for a two-day official visit, marking his first trip to the state since assuming office. The visit will take him to Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram, focusing on education, research, and innovation.

The Vice President landed in Thiruvananthapuram around 1:55 p.m. and proceeded to Kollam by helicopter. Later in the afternoon, he will attend the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Fatima Mata National College, where he is the chief guest. The event marks a major milestone for one of Kerala’s leading educational institutions.

On Tuesday (November 4), Radhakrishnan will visit the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram at 11 a.m., where he is expected to interact with researchers and review the institute’s contributions to medical innovation. He will return to New Delhi later in the day.

The Vice President’s visit highlights his emphasis on linking education, research, and traditional industries — a theme reflected in his engagements across the state. Security and traffic arrangements have been tightened in both cities ahead of his arrival, with temporary traffic curbs in place to ensure smooth movement during the high-profile visit.
