Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is bracing for five days of isolated heavy showers as twin cyclonic circulations — one over the Mannar Strait and another over the southern Odisha–northern Andhra coast — intensify weather activity in the region.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has cautioned that the state may experience heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph, accompanied by lightning.
A yellow alert has been sounded in Idukki, Pathanamthitta, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts for today, warning residents to stay vigilant against intense downpours.
