Tourism ministry’s partnership with Netflix, YouTube can create wonders: Shekhawat

Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has said that partnerships between the Ministry of Tourism and private entities such as Netflix, Google, YouTube and Air India have the potential to significantly boost the promotion of India’s tourist destinations.

Speaking at an event at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in New Delhi on Wednesday, which also marked Netflix’s 10 years in India, the minister said India has a wealth of culture, heritage and experiences to offer the world.

Shekhawat said collaborations with leading global platforms and companies could play a crucial role in showcasing India’s tourism potential to international audiences and attracting more visitors.

Highlighting Netflix’s contribution, the minister noted that the streaming platform has filmed productions at more than 100 locations across India, helping to bring the country’s diverse landscapes and cultural heritage to a global audience.

He expressed confidence that stronger public-private partnerships would further enhance India’s visibility as a premier global tourism destination.
