New Delhi: Food delivery giant Swiggy has once again raised its platform fee, bumping it up from ₹12 to ₹14 per order. The company attributed the latest hike to a surge in customer transactions during the festive season.
What’s striking is the pace of the increase—Swiggy’s platform fee was just ₹2 in April 2023, rose to ₹6 by July 2024, jumped to ₹10 in October 2024, and now stands at ₹14. This represents a staggering 600% increase in just two years.
Handling over 2 million daily orders, the new fee is set to substantially boost Swiggy’s revenue stream. Meanwhile, rival Zomato also tweaks platform fees during peak hours, but unlike Swiggy, it typically avoids upward revisions during lean periods.
