Supreme Court of India’s YouTube Channel Hacked, Promoting Cryptocurrency

In a shocking cybersecurity breach on September 20, 2024, the official YouTube channel of the Supreme Court of India was hacked. The hackers replaced official content with cryptocurrency-related videos, including one titled “Brad Garlinghouse: Ripple Responds To The SEC’s $2 Billion Fine! XRP PRICE PREDICTION.”

This incident has raised serious concerns, given the importance of the channel, which regularly streams live hearings of high-profile cases. The court is working with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to regain control and address the breach. Such hacks, often used to promote fraudulent cryptocurrency schemes, have become increasingly common, highlighting vulnerabilities even in high-level digital infrastructure.

The disruption has sparked concerns over the security and transparency of judicial proceedings, with the authorities striving to resolve the issue swiftly and prevent further breaches.
