Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is set to experience more wet weather as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts isolated rain and thunderstorms across the state through Thursday. Gusty winds reaching up to 40 km/h may accompany the storms in several regions.
With lightning posing a significant risk, authorities have urged the public to stay alert and take necessary precautions. Meanwhile, rising temperatures are expected in several districts — with Kozhikode and Palakkad likely to hit 37°C, and Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kannur, and Kasaragod reaching up to 36°C.
Adding to the weather woes, a Kallakkadal (rough sea) warning has been issued. The National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) warns of high waves between 0.3 and 0.9 meters along the Kerala coast until 11:30 PM tonight (April 22), and 1.0 to 1.1 meters off Kanyakumari until 5:30 PM tomorrow.
Fishermen and coastal communities are advised to remain vigilant, as the risk of sea incursion remains high.
