Mananthavady constituency NDA candidate P Shyam Raj has demanded a proper memorial for tribal leader Edachena Kunkan. He raised the demand during his election campaign at Pulinjhal Kotta. Shyam Raj said that future generations should remember leaders like Kunkan.
He criticised the ruling governments for not building a suitable memorial so far. He said it is a failure even when there is tribal minister and MLA. Shyam Raj also mentioned Talakkal Chandhu. He said there is nothing in Wayanad to properly honour these leaders.
He pointed out that only a stone remains at Pulinjhal now. He demanded a statue and a proper memorial for Edachena Kunkan. Shyam Raj said that if the NDA comes to power, a memorial for these leaders will be built in Wayanad.
