In preparation for the upcoming festive season, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that Indian Railways will run nearly 6,000 special trains to meet the increased demand for travel. A total of 5,975 trains have been scheduled, significantly up from the 4,429 trains operated last year. These trains are expected to ease the burden on major routes during festivals like Diwali, Dussehra, and Chhath Puja, providing smoother travel experiences for millions of passengers.
The move reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to improving travel options during peak seasons, ensuring better connectivity and reducing crowd congestion across the country.
