Wayanad MP and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited the grieving family of Radha, a 45-year-old tribal woman who tragically lost her life in a tiger attack in Pancharakolly, Mananthavady, Kerala. Radha was attacked on January 24 while walking through a forest path to her workplace.
During her visit, Priyanka spent time consoling Radha’s family and later attended a meeting at the district collectorate. Discussions focused on the increasing human-wildlife conflicts in Wayanad, which have caused growing concern among residents.
In response to the incident, local protests erupted, with residents demanding urgent action to address the recurring threat. The Kerala government has issued orders to capture or eliminate the tiger responsible, aiming to prevent further attacks.
This tragic event underscores the pressing need for sustainable strategies to address human-wildlife conflicts in Wayanad, balancing the safety of local communities with the conservation of wildlife.
