New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the Post-Budget Webinar on Agriculture and Rural Transformation, highlighting the government’s roadmap to modernize India’s farming sector and strengthen the rural economy. The Prime Minister said the Union Budget has laid a strong foundation for transforming agriculture through technology, innovation and improved infrastructure. PM stressed that increasing productivity, expanding market access and promoting sustainable farming practices are key to ensuring higher incomes for farmers and long-term growth in the sector.
During the address, Modi also called for stronger collaboration between the government, private sector, startups and research institutions to accelerate rural development. PM noted that initiatives in food processing, agricultural exports, rural entrepreneurship and digital agriculture will open new opportunities and generate employment in villages. According to the Government of India, the focus will also be on strengthening supply chains, expanding storage and logistics facilities and boosting value addition in agriculture to drive inclusive rural transformation.
