PM Modi to Launch BJP’s Kerala Assembly Poll Campaign With Thiruvananthapuram Roadshow After Historic Mayoral Win

Thiruvananthapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to formally launch the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections with a massive roadshow in Thiruvananthapuram, following the party’s historic victory in the city’s mayoral election.

The roadshow, scheduled as part of the Prime Minister’s visit to the state, is expected to cover key stretches of the capital city and draw large crowds of party workers and supporters. BJP leaders say the event will mark a turning point for the party in Kerala, signalling its intent to emerge as a serious contender in a state long dominated by the LDF and UDF fronts.

The BJP’s recent mayoral win in Thiruvananthapuram—its first in the state capital—has significantly boosted the party’s morale. Leaders describe the victory as a reflection of growing public support, especially among young voters and the urban middle class, and see it as a foundation for expanding the party’s footprint ahead of the Assembly polls.

During the roadshow, PM Modi is expected to highlight the achievements of the Union government, stress the BJP’s development agenda for Kerala, and call for a “new political alternative” in the state. Senior BJP leaders, including state and national office-bearers, are likely to join the Prime Minister at various points along the route.

Security has been tightened across the city, with traffic restrictions and special arrangements in place to accommodate the high-profile event. Party sources said the roadshow would be followed by organisational meetings aimed at energising the cadre and finalising the campaign strategy for the Assembly elections.

With this high-visibility launch, the BJP hopes to convert its recent municipal success into momentum at the state level, positioning itself as a decisive force in Kerala’s evolving political landscape.
