The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has unveiled its list of 207 feature films eligible for the 97th Academy Awards, scheduled for March 2, 2025. Among these, seven Indian films have made it to the prestigious Best Picture contenders’ list, showcasing the diverse cinematic brilliance of Indian filmmakers.

Meanwhile, ‘Putul’, directed by Indira Dhar, has carved its place in history as the first Bengali film to be considered for an Oscar nomination in the Best Picture category.
