New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Centenary Celebrations of Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj on June 28 at 11 AM at Vigyan Bhawan, marking the beginning of a year-long national tribute to one of India’s most revered Jain spiritual leaders and social reformers.
Organised by the Government of India in association with the Bhagwan Mahaveer Ahimsa Bharti Trust, the celebrations commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Acharya Vidyanand Ji, whose profound contributions include over 50 scholarly works on Jain philosophy, ethics, and classical languages. He is also credited with reviving numerous ancient Jain temples and promoting education in Prakrit and spiritual values.
The centenary year will witness a wide range of cultural, literary, educational, and spiritual events aimed at honouring his legacy and spreading his teachings of non-violence, ethical living, and service to humanity.
PM Modi, who will also address the gathering, underscores through this initiative the government’s ongoing commitment to celebrating India’s spiritual heritage and visionary thinkers who have enriched the nation’s moral and cultural fabric.
