PM Modi to Inaugurate ₹11,000 Crore Delhi Highway Projects on August 17

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two landmark infrastructure projects in the capital on Sunday, August 17—the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), together worth ₹11,000 crore. The 10.1 km Delhi stretch of the Dwarka Expressway, built at a cost of ₹5,360 crore, will directly link Shiv Murti to the Delhi–Haryana border while enhancing multi-modal connectivity to Delhi Metro’s Blue and Orange lines, Yashobhoomi convention centre, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station, and Dwarka’s transport hubs. The ₹5,580 crore UER-II project, spanning 75 km with six lanes, spurs, and multi-level interchanges, is being touted as Delhi’s “third Ring Road,” designed to ease bottlenecks at Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, and NH-9 while accelerating industrial linkages across NCR. Together, these highways are set to cut Noida–IGI Airport travel time to just 20 minutes, decongest Delhi’s busy corridors, and fuel real estate, trade, and mobility growth across the region.
