Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned photographer Raghu Rai, describing him as a “creative stalwart” who captured India’s vibrancy through his lens.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said Raghu Rai’s work reflected exceptional sensitivity, depth, and diversity, bringing people closer to the many facets of life in India. He termed Rai’s contribution to photography and culture as unparalleled.
Modi said the photographer’s death is an irreparable loss to the artistic community and extended his condolences to the bereaved family, admirers, and the photography fraternity.
“Shri Raghu Rai Ji will be remembered as a creative stalwart… His passing is an irreparable loss to the world of photography and culture,” the Prime Minister said in his message.
