In a landmark celebration of the 11th International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a massive yoga event in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with over 3 lakh participants stretching along a 26-kilometre corridor from RK Beach to Bhogapuram. Themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the event was the centrepiece of a nationwide “Yoga Sangam” movement that brought together more than 2 crore people across 10 lakh locations in India. Addressing the gathering, PM Modi launched the visionary initiative “Yoga for Humanity 2.0,” highlighting yoga as a unifying force and a “pause button” for a world in turmoil. He called for global policy frameworks that prioritize inner peace, ecological balance, and collective well-being. Emphasizing yoga’s scientific benefits—backed by AIIMS studies—he underlined its impact on heart health, mental wellness, and neurological care. The event saw widespread participation, including 11,000 naval personnel and lakhs of citizens in Andhra Pradesh under the “Yogandhra Abhiyan.” As Yoga Day completes a decade, PM Modi’s address reaffirmed India’s role in leading a global movement that connects personal wellness with planetary health, making yoga not just a practice—but a global path forward.
