Hansalpur, Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 26 inaugurated a series of green mobility initiatives at Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant, marking a new chapter in India’s clean energy journey. The event saw the launch of Maruti Suzuki’s first global Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e-Vitara, which will be exported to over 100 countries, positioning India on the global EV map. In addition, a hybrid battery electrode manufacturing unit—a collaboration between Toshiba, Denso, and Suzuki—was initiated at Gujarat’s TDS lithium-ion battery plant, strengthening India’s domestic EV ecosystem. Declaring that “Electric Vehicles made in India will be exported to 100 countries from today,” PM Modi underscored his “Make in India, Make for the World” vision. These initiatives reinforce India’s ambition to emerge as a global hub for sustainable mobility, advancing the nation’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission.
