Ludhiana: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the new terminal building at Halwara Airport, calling it a moment of immense joy for the people of Punjab, especially those living in Ludhiana and nearby areas.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the modern terminal marks a significant leap in Punjab’s aviation infrastructure and will greatly enhance regional air connectivity. PM noted that Ludhiana’s status as a major industrial and commercial hub makes improved air access crucial for economic growth, trade, and investment.
The new facility is expected to provide greater travel convenience, reducing dependence on distant airports and opening up fresh opportunities for business and tourism. Equipped with upgraded passenger amenities, the terminal is set to handle growing traffic and improve the overall travel experience.
Local leaders and officials welcomed the inauguration, describing the project as a long-pending demand that has finally been realised. The development is being seen as a game-changer for the region, strengthening connectivity and accelerating development.
The project aligns with the Centre’s broader vision of expanding regional aviation infrastructure, ensuring faster, more accessible air travel and balanced growth across the country.
