PM Modi Highlights Women Empowerment, Launches Projects in Kashi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed a public gathering in Varanasi, emphasising women’s empowerment as a key pillar of India’s development.

During the event, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth several thousand crore rupees, spanning connectivity, healthcare, and infrastructure. Two Amrit Bharat trains connecting Varanasi with Pune and Ayodhya with Mumbai were also flagged off to boost regional connectivity.

The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to implementing women’s reservation in Parliament and state assemblies, stating that efforts would continue despite political opposition.

Highlighting government initiatives, Modi said schemes related to sanitation, banking, housing, and healthcare have significantly improved the lives of women across the country. He also underlined the growing role of women in self-help groups and economic activities.

The event was held as part of ongoing development initiatives in Varanasi, with new healthcare facilities, including a super-speciality hospital and a critical care block, announced to strengthen the city’s medical infrastructure.
