New Delhi: In the 116th episode of his monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat on November 24, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated India’s cultural and historical achievements while emphasizing the importance of preserving the nation’s rich legacy.

Key Highlights:

  1. India’s Maritime Glory: PM Modi spotlighted the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at Lothal, Gujarat, as a world-class project showcasing ancient trade and seafaring traditions. He urged citizens to contribute historical documents and artefacts to bolster this initiative.
  2. Global Preservation of Indian Heritage: The Prime Minister praised efforts in Oman to document the history of Indian families who settled there centuries ago, preserving records like diaries and account books dating back to 1838.
  3. Partition Oral History Project: Modi stressed the need to document Partition survivors’ experiences, preserving their stories as a crucial historical resource for future generations.
  4. Cultural Achievements Abroad: Acknowledging India’s global influence, he highlighted the recent translation of the Upanishads into Slovak and commended the worldwide appreciation for Indian spiritual texts.
