PM Modi Hails Sanskrit as a ‘Timeless Source of Knowledge’ on World Sanskrit Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt greetings to the nation, calling Sanskrit a “timeless source of knowledge and expression” with an enduring influence across diverse fields. In messages shared on X (formerly Twitter), he praised the dedication of scholars, students, and enthusiasts worldwide who continue to learn, teach, and promote the ancient language. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting Sanskrit heritage, the Prime Minister highlighted major initiatives over the past decade, including the establishment of Central Sanskrit Universities, the launch of Sanskrit Learning Centres, grants for scholars, and the Gyan Bharatam Mission to digitize ancient manuscripts—benefiting countless students and researchers. Celebrated annually on Shravan Poornima, which also coincides with Raksha Bandhan, World Sanskrit Day inspires speech contests, seminars, and recitations aimed at reviving and celebrating Sanskrit’s rich cultural and scholarly legacy.
